Wild Wor(l)ds: Poetry and Nature-Friendly Yards

April 25 @ 1:30 pm - 4:30 pm

This poetry reading on nature and climate brings together local writers and high school students to share original work exploring land, place, environmental change, and our relationship to the natural world. Held during the week of Earth Day, the event connects artistic expression with reflection on community and the choices that shape our shared future. Invited poets Wendy Weseen, Garry Gottfriedson, Sue Buis, Thom Vernon, Pete Smith, Lindsay Curry, and George Johnson will read alongside student participants and a visual artist, Bonnie McBride, will be working live in the space.

A selection of exquisite appetizers will be provided by chef Francesco Oliva, owner of Mediterraneo.

Join us April 25 at the Kamloops Art Gallery Studio. Doors open at 1:30 pm, with readings from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and a short break, followed by mingling and wrap-up from 4:00 to 4:30 pm. Pre-registration is required. We gratefully acknowledge the Kamloops Art Gallery for generously providing studio space, staff support, and event setup.
