We have a wide variety of action teams currently working on building local resilience. Talk to us or send an email if you’d like to learn more. Join us and get involved!

Current projects:

  • Campus of care: Advocating for the development of housing & facilities to age in place on provincial land at 6th and Columbia St.
  • Clothing exchanges: Organizing swaps to reduce consumption and increase affordability
  • Citizens for Climate Action: Monitoring and promoting opportunities for public input on municipal issues, preparing resources, etc.
  • Collaborative Community Conversations: Developing a communications platform for local non-profits to share their news
  • Eco-Music Workshops/Festival: Organizing song writing & eco-poetry workshops & performances
  • Getting People into Homes: Alleviating the housing shortage locally
  • Green Burials: Advocating for options to be buried without chemicals, coffin, or cremation, and be able to contribute to the environment in your decomposition
  • Imagine Kamloops: Working with Neighbourhood Associations in specific neighbourhood(s) to identify and advance hyper-local climate action priorities
  • Kamloops Community Foodways: Supporting residential gardeners to produce and sell extra food
  • Nature-friendly yards: Educating, promoting and facilitating ecologically friendly yards
  • Propel Us Car Share: Researching and setting up a cooperative vehicle sharing program
  • Propolis Housing Cooperative: Developing cooperative housing in Kamloops
  • Safe Bike Parking: Doing research and advocacy to improve the availability and security of bike parking in commercial areas
  • Solar farm: Exploring community-based solar installations on non-arable land or large roof area of an industrial building, school, etc.
  • Urban Tree Lovers: Ensuring that the large trees in commercial areas are well looked after, especially during extreme heat events.
