Celebrate Earth Day, April 22nd, and support Chimera Theatre, a grass-roots, independent company to mount its production of George M. Johnson’s award-winning eco-comedy, Boomerangst. The world premiere of this play, written about and for Kamloops and its environment, will be produced at the Pavilion Theatre, June 8-17th, but your help is needed to get it there!
In Boomerangst, an impulsive baby boomer forms a retirement commune with former high school rock band mates to get back to the garden of their youthful green ideals, but they dig up more dirt almost than they can handle before uniting against a mining company threatening their land. George will be launching the show song “Climate Crisis” by Intensive Care (co-written with his son Ben) and the accompanying video.
There will be food, live music, a Silent Auction, door prizes, and a 50/50 draw. 60s-70s period attire is optional!
