Hope Matters: Elin Kelsey speaks on hope and the climate crisis

Author Elin Kelsey will speak at TRU on Wed. Apr. 6th at 7 pm in the Campus Activity Centre’s Mountain Room (COVID permitting).

In conjunction with her Pathways to Hope and Resilience English course at TRU, Nina Johnson and TRU Arts are bringing in Dr. Kelsey, a world-renowned scientist and science communicator on climate issues. Dr. Kelsey will be speaking about the evidence for hope in dealing with the planetary climate crisis, drawing on her recent book, Hope Matters. Transition Kamloops will be supporting this event.

“Hope Matters boldly breaks through the narrative of doom and gloom that has overtaken conversations about our future to show why hope, not fear, is our most powerful tool for tackling the planetary crisis.”

Elin Kelsey, PhD, is a scholar and educator, and an award-winning author of books for children and adults. She is a popular keynote speaker who regularly gives talks and leads environmental workshops across North America and around the world.
