UPDATE JULY 2022: WE’VE LAUNCHED THIS PROJECT! LEARN HOW YOU CAN CHECK OUT THE DOWNTOWN TOUR HERE
We’ve got a new idea, and you’re invited to flesh it out with us next Wednesday, April 14 at 7 pm!
Sustainability Stories.
The concept behind Sustainability Stories is a self-guided community tour that would showcase innovative ideas or projects focusing on climate action and stewardship of the natural world. At each stop on the tour, participants would use a smartphone to experience the story for that location. We hope to make the stops easily accessible via active transportation and/or public transit.
Register now for the Sustainability Stories planning meeting on April 14 at 7 pm. Click here to register. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with information on how to join the meeting. We look forward to seeing you there! |
The objective of this project is to engage the public in a fun, creative and thoughtful way while highlighting actions that support the goals of the Community Climate Action Plan. And it’s COVID-safe!
Right now, we would love your help in identifying great local story ideas so we can plug the location into a mapping program and get started on producing the virtual stories. Our goal is to have 6 – 10 audio stories available to the public by early summer. Here’s an example of what we’re thinking of. This is a tour in Saskatoon’s Warehouse District (click on stop #1 then press the Play button to start the audio tour). Our tour would have a different focus and feel, but you get the idea.
Also, if there’s someone else who you think might be interested in working on this project, please feel free to forward this invitation.
If you can’t attend the meeting but would like to share an idea for a stop on the Sustainability Stories tour, please send it in!
