Public Meeting of the newly formed Downtown and West End Residents Association, Wednesday April 16th at Desert Gardens Community Centre, 540 Seymour Street. The objective is to create an association that is able to represent the concerns of the Downtown and West End residents, as to speak on the behalf of the residents to all levels of government, regarding issues affecting our neighbourhood. The current issues to be discussed are SD73 proposed closure of Stuart Wood Elementary School; the proposed changes to Columbia Street between 2nd and 6th Ave; downtown noise concerns; enhancing livability of downtown neighbourhoods and …. other concerns residents may submit. The association represents residents living between north side of Columbia Street to the South Thompson river, and extending to the West End downtown neighbourhood.
