The Kamloops ECOSmart team is back in action! This spring/summer they’ll be continuing a commitment to educating citizens of Kamloops about the importance of a sustainable lifestyle including: water conservation, energy efficiency, solid waste management, and recycling.
On Wednesday, June 1, 2011 the City of Kamloops will be celebrating Clean Air Day with a waste-free picnic in Riverside Park. The purpose of Clean Air Day is to demonstrate a wide variety of alternative methods of transit, gardening, composting, and recycling. The focus of this event will be to emphasize the importance of reducing Canada’s ecological footprint with anti-idling practices.
City council members, City Senior Management, the media, local environment groups, and the public have all been invited to take part in this National event. Come down between 10 am and 2 pm and enjoy a picnic in the park, tree planting, educational activities & lots of games & prizes!
