The Kamloops 350 group welcomes everyone to a rally at the Farmer’s Market Saturday October 9 in support of the global work-party effort to stop climate change. The Kamloops group will be lobbying for the passage of Bill C-311, the Climate Change Accountability Bill, which would commit Canada to scientifically-based targets for reductions in carbon emissions. The bill passed in the House of Commons in May but has been stalled in the Senate.
The global effort, called “A Day to Celebrate Climate Solutions” involves people in 184 countries (so far) working on ways to cut carbon emissions and build a clean energy future.
The rally starts at 10:00 am.Β Everyone is encouraged to bring big, colourful banners, etc.
Let’s turn up the political heat to cool the planet!
