You’ve probably never given much thought to the earth under your feet, but it deserves some careful attention. It is no secret that in order to grow healthy plants you need healthy soil! In this three-hour workshop you will learn about soil types, microorganisms, nutrients, soil amendments, and soil water relationship. Learn how to make your soil more fertile, increase plant productivity, and the importance of appropriate management and land use practices to ensure conservation of this vital resource. Maria will teach you how to test your soil’s pH using a soil test kit. Each student will also be asked to bring a soil sample from their garden so that they can learn how to determine their soil type.
